You should have an idea of what you are going to do, but it should be a vague idea” – Pablo Picasso

My Background

I was born in Ohio and raised mostly in Minneapolis, studied music, journalism and photography in college and moved to London England in my mid 20’s to begin my career as an artist and photographer in earnest. Fast forward a couple decades and I have been working in the media and technology industries in a variety of jobs. I worked as a photographer and printer for many years and have at one time or another specialized in color and fine art reproduction, digital asset management, digital disruption, customer experience and UI design, content distribution, privacy, publishing, piracy, big data, analytics, security and most recently in IT outsourcing and cloud computing.

Because I have always been interested in the “state of the art” technology there has been a limited amount of formal training available in the areas I have been working in so I have taught myself new things with reading and research and have by necessity focused on the practical aspects of how we use technology in our business and day to day lives. Persistent curiosity and a love of learning new things has kept my energy level high and perspective fresh. I pride myself on being a renaissance man as opposed to a single minded specialist in any one particular area.
